Bloomberg adds Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple to its brand terminals

14 December 2017 21:00, UTC

Bloomberg terminals are one of the most popular tools of wealthy traders and companies, and now that the cryptocurrency market is on the rise, the management of Bloomberg seems to have decided that more altcoins deserve to be added into the terminal interface.

Now the list of “Crypto Currencies” contains Bitcoin, Ripple, Ethereum and Litecoin. There is no visible reason why Ripple is the first after Bitcoin on the screenshot of the terminal posted on Twitter, and not Ethereum, which is the second most expensive cryptocurrency after Bitcoin. Anyway, this marks another event when institutional investors start to pay attention to cryptocurrencies instead of outright calling them frauds.

The decision to add more digital currencies to the lists in Bloomberg terminals corresponds with the most discussed trend of this autumn and December — Bitcoin futures. After it became clear there is a safe way to operate with cryptocurrency by using futures contracts, major companies voiced their intentions to develop this mechanism, which accelerated the growth of Bitcoin and increased its reputation. Other cryptocurrencies have grown as well, with Ethereum recently hitting another all-time high of $750 on Coinmarketcap.
