Bitmain co-founder Jihan WU has announced two new models that will become part of the flagship Antminer 17 series.

According to the report, Antminer S17 + will have a transmission speed of 73 TH / s, while the efficiency will be set at 40J / TH + 10%. T17+ will have a lower hashrate amounting to 64 TH/s, but the efficiency will be reasonably greater i.e. 50 J/TH + 10%. According to the Bitmain founder, these machines represent the “future” of crypto mining. The key goal of the company today is to continuously research equipment capabilities, Wu added.

The development of the company takes place against the backdrop of a power struggle between Wu and Micree ZHAN. The latter was dismissed a few days ago, after which Zhan claimed that he was forcibly removed from his post of Chairman. Both have rather conflicting views on how Bitmain should evolve in the coming years.

In addition to internal problems, Bitmain has certain threats in the market after its competitor Canaan was listed on the global NASDAQ market a week ago. Despite the fact that Bitmain accounts for 80% of all mining devices, it is not a public company still. Canaan's IPO may pose a serious threat to the market share that Bitmain now occupies.
