Ari Paul: Bitcoin can rise as high as it can fall, that’s why my company bet big on $50000

“Capture upside while reducing my downside risk”, explains Ari Paul from BlockTower Capital his unusual option bet on Bitcoin becoming 50,000 USD. He is certain that while Bitcoin can dramatically fall, it can dramatically rise as well. Naturally, he was asked by the correspondents of CNBC, the channel he spoke on, why not just simply buy Bitcoin (Mr. Paul used special options). The answer of Ari Paul implied that this is more beneficial and in case Bitcoin actually falls, the BlockTower Capital co-founder is not going to lose so much money, as this call has some safeguard expiration mechanics.

Also, Ari Paul unknowingly shares the views of the Russian presidential adviser when he tells that more market makers could dampen the volatility of Bitcoin. But he also noted that it would influence short-term volatility, while yearly volatility would preserve due to the very nature of this asset.

Previously, someone bet a big amount of money on Bitcoin reaching 50,000 USD, and the press immediately started to investigate who this strange investor was. Then, one of the outlets received a word from a trustworthy source that this was Ari Paul, BlockTower Capital co-founder, and now this has been confirmed by him personally.
