Amazon acquires cryptocurrency domains

01 November 2017 21:00, UTC

Jeffrey Bezos, the creator of prosperous Amazon, has lately been named the richest person in the world by Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He was also addressed in a number of petitions regarding cryptocurrencies - users clearly want them as a payment means installed on the website. No clear response came back, but recently Amazon Technologies, Inc. have been spotted acquiring domains amazonethereum.com, amazoncryptocurrency.com and amazoncryptocurrencies.com in addition to amazonbitcoin.com previously acquired in 2013.

Here it should be reminded that the registration of copyrights and trademarks can, in fact, be conducted years before the release of the product connected. When amazonbitcoin.com was acquired, it must have caused a wave of optimism in the cryptocurrency community. Four years have passed and we still do not see the progress aside from the acquisition of a few other domains. It would be safe to assume that the development of cryptocurrency payments structure might be going within Amazon offices, but sadly, it’s not like they are going to implement it all tomorrow.
