Afghan businessman uses Bitcoin to ease the lives of women in his country

Roya Mahboob, the Afghan entrepreneur who is called one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine, voiced his plans to hold a Bitcoin conference with projects created by Afghan businesswomen.

The Digital Citizen Fund company, co-founded and headed by Mr. Mahboob, has already registered 9000 girls and women in educational programs. Furthermore, this company has helped 100 women to launch their own businesses, and the next step is going to be this Bitcoin conference where they will have an opportunity to show their projects.

A special role in women’s financial independence belongs to blockchain, Roya Mahboob believes. Because women are poorly treated in this country, there were cases when a contract with a woman as the party was not valid in the eyes of authorities, or, in other cases, just physically destroyed, which is not going to work with contracts signed with the use of blockchain technologies.

Mr. Mahboob also plans to develop the insurance market and loan market for women with the help of Smart Contracts technology. He previously developed a blog app designed specifically for women with some revenue features in it. There is an option in this app to withdraw funds in cryptocurrency, as many potential users are not even allowed to have their own bank account.
