Vitalik Buterin and Stanford University to open joint blockchain research facility
Ethereum Foundation with close ties to the eponymous cryptocurrency creator Vitalik Buterin is going to finance and assist the recent blockchain-related initiative of Stanford professors. According to CoinDesk, the project is also supported by OmiseGO, DFINITY Stiftung and Polychain Capital.
This news has also been confirmed on Vitalik Buterin’s Twitter who fully endorsed the project:
Ethereum creator has noted in the past that a lot of people play on the public’s overestimation of blockchain. Evidently, the developer wants to see more actual work on this technology and less vague talks about how it going to transform society or banks.
The representatives of OmiseGO have also posted a special statement in the social media, additionally indicating the importance of the initiative:

Stanford members said that their university must be way ahead of other educational institutions, as blockchains are soon going to be used for the global-level business.
Other universities are planning to introduce lectures on blockchain technologies, as witnessed by the older news. Less known private business schools might be having the same ideas.
