Another hint indicating CBOE might add altcoin futures
The Chicago Board Options Exchange might expand the list of cryptocurrency-related futures, business outlets report citing a curious speech made by the president of this vast organization.
The signal about the possible expansion of cryptocurrency futures has been voiced by one of the high-ranking managers of CBOE at a Futures Industry Association conference recently held in Florida, USA. Chris Concannon, exchange leader, was the one who told that digital currencies are here to stay and that the organization envisions a “crypto complex”.
As most major investors in cryptocurrency or economic observers already know, CBOE (the Chicago Board Options Exchange) has added Bitcoin futures last year. This mechanism has already proven to work exactly as intended with the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission observing the project on behalf of the state.
CBOE leader Chris Concannon has already told he did not exclude to include altcoin futures in the listings of the exchange later. Anyway, both hints of this expansion are still only words and new futures might easily be introduced in a year or two from now.
