50 Cent: I don’t own any bitcoins, sold them long ago

26 February 2018 21:00, UTC

The famous rapper whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III did not actually decide to hold his bitcoins for a long period of time as initially suggested by the various media outlets.

His statement on the matter comes amidst the necessary reporting on his bankruptcy in 2015. As he tells, he decided not to reject the rumors as he thought it was a good addition to his scenic image. 50 Cent also did not want to ruin the positive coverage of him as a successful investor - why stop people from telling you have done something well? Especially considering the fact that the reports were true when they said that he sold his albums for bitcoins long before when this payment method was popular.

What is untrue in this story is the suggestion that 50 Cent sold his bitcoins only recently after holding them for years.

Curtis Jackson also told about a photo on his Instagram with a pile of dollars and the cheerful description: in reality, those were prop money.

Leon Bayer, a lawyer in Bayer Wishman & Leotta, has told the American reporters that it doesn’t really matter with which currency 50 Cent operated in the past as long as he remembers to sensibly report all his business operations.
