Bitcoin.org, an original Bitcoin website, has been hit with an “overwhelming attack” and a ransom demand. On Monday, Cøbra, a pseudonymous operator of the website, tweeted that the website has been hit with a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS), following which the attacker demanded 0.5 BTC, worth about $17k at the current price of $34,000 per Bitcoin.
