A Florida teenager suspected of spearheading the massive Twitter hack and subsequent high-profile bitcoin scam is in custody.

  • Florida news channel WFLA reported Friday that Grahman Clark, a 17-year-old Tampa resident, was booked Friday morning and aces 30 felony charges in connection to hack. Clark is accused of masterminding the plot.
  • The July 15 hack breached 130 Twitter accounts - including those of high-profile celebrities and politicians - and co-opted their hundred-million-strong collective following to perpetrate a bitcoin scam that only netted $130,000.
  • Twitter was rocked by the hack and has since reported that it was caused by a targeted spear-phishing campaign against its employees.
