The total is Arkham’s valuation of the attributed portfolio, not a loss figure disclosed by Mercado Bitcoin. The exchange said it had contained a security incident in one of its systems, that customers suffered no losses and that no data had leaked.
Bitcoin Remains at Disclosed Destination
Earlier on Nov. 2, Mercado Bitcoin identified destination addresses for movements related to the incident, as The Defiant reported.
The disclosed Bitcoin address had received about 106.07 $BTC, with none spent when checked. That matches the rounded 106.068 $BTC listed in Arkham’s portfolio. The tracker’s Bitcoin tracing link also points to the same address.
An Ethereum transaction sent 2,852.07 $ETH to the Ethereum-compatible destination disclosed by the exchange. Arkham’s portfolio covers a broader scope: roughly 3,669 $ETH across Ethereum, Base, Optimism and Arbitrum, rather than that single transfer.
The response already includes frozen assets. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said it had frozen more than 4.5 million USDT tied to the incident, as The Defiant previously reported. Ethereum records show a blacklist action against the exchange-disclosed destination.
In its 9:24 a.m. ET update, Mercado Bitcoin said work to restore operations safely was continuing. It gave no timetable for reopening deposits and withdrawals.
