Cross-chain bridge Relay Protocol said on Nov. 2 that its efforts to block funds stolen in the Binance hack are causing pauses or delays on some transactions and routes.

In an update on its verified X account, Relay said it is using “multiple layers of risk and compliance screening” to block addresses tied to the hacker. It said it is collaborating with Binance, law enforcement and security teams across the ecosystem.

“No action is needed on your part,” Relay told users, directing anyone with transaction questions to its support center. It did not name affected chains or asset pairs or give a timetable for lifting the restrictions.

The intervention follows a Nov. 1 report from onchain investigator Lookonchain, covered in The Defiant’s earlier reporting, that a Binance-hack wallet had moved 486,970 $SOL, valued by the firm at $46.4 million, in the preceding hour and was swapping $SOL for bitcoin through Relay.

The FBI attributed the Oct. 29 theft of more than $6 billion to North Korea’s TraderTraitor activity and urged crypto businesses and infrastructure operators to block transactions involving the listed addresses or funds derived from them.

Relay directed users to its status page for updates. That page displayed “We’re fully operational” when checked, without identifying restricted routes. Relay said its collaboration with Binance, law enforcement and security teams was ongoing and limited what it could disclose: “We’ll share more as soon as we can.”
