Losses from the Coldcard Bitcoin hardware wallet hack have climbed to more than 1,778 $BTC — worth approximately $112 million at current prices — according to new data from Galaxy Research. The firm has been monitoring the incident since it emerged, and its latest findings reveal a complex web of attack flows that have so far led to the identification of at least 33 addresses linked to the theft.
Tracking the Attack Flows
Galaxy Research said it is currently tracking three major attack flows, along with traces of more than 30 smaller attacks. The firm has identified at least 33 addresses believed to be controlled by the hacker, and has shared this list with exchanges, law enforcement authorities, and investigative agencies to aid in tracing and potential recovery efforts.
Notably, no new attack flows have been detected since August 6, suggesting that the hacker may have paused or shifted tactics. Of the stolen funds identified so far, approximately 1,531 $BTC remains in addresses controlled by the hacker, while the remaining 246 $BTC has been transferred out to other wallets or exchanges.
