The Solana Foundation announced a new security audit framework called STRIDE (Solana Trust, Resilience and Infrastructure for DeFi Enterprises) and the Solana Incident Response Network (SIRN) in partnership with Asymmetric Research to strengthen the security of Solana-based protocols. STRIDE independently evaluates protocols in eight key areas, discloses findings publicly, and provides transparency to users. This announcement comes one week after DRIFT Protocol lost $280 million in a social engineering attack by North Korea-linked threat actors. A new preliminary investigation revealed that DRIFT team members were personally approached by North Korean intermediaries at conferences.
