The holiday season saw several crypto projects create airdrops as a way to develop governance systems and to reward those who might have used the protocols. All Ethereum addresses who have spent less than 0.05 ETH in gas fees by January 1, 2022 (block 1391450) are eligible to receive the WTF token airdrop.
What you need to know about Fees WTF
Fees WTF was launched in 2019. It allows users to connect either with their WalletConnect wallet or MetaMask wallet and allows them to see information such as how much gas they used, the average price for those transactions, and how many of those transactions failed and the cost of those failures.
The white paper has a crucial piece of information that is not clear on the homepage. To reward the developers for their work on the project, users must pay a 0.01 ETH service fee, which is approximately $45 AUD.

Instead, it will go directly to the development department and any referrer if applicable. The team doesn’t seem to be too concerned about how the token will perform upon launch, as millions of people will be eligible. This will generate a nice income stream for the Fees WTF Team.

- You will find the connect wallet in the top right. Click it
- You can connect to the site using your MetaMask wallet or WalletConnect wallet
- You can check both wallets for eligibility if you transact frequently through them.
- The site will immediately tell you how much gas was used once you have connected your wallet
- Click the button at the bottom of the page to claim your airdrop.
The claimant is entitled 5421.12 WTF tokens in this instance. The token can be used for staking and an array of other features the WTF has up their sleeve. Eligible users will need to consider the 0.01 ETH service fee and any gas fees associated with claiming the token to decide whether it is worth claiming.
