Unexpectedly, FTX's hacker, who held over $300 million in assets in his wallet, started moving Ethereum (ETH) for the first time since 2022.

The hacker has moved a total of $8 million so far, using RailGun and Thorchain to process his transactions.

This development comes on the heels of the arrest of Zhu Su, a prominent figure in the crypto space. It is quite interesting that the FTX hacker's fund movement coincided with Su's arrest, leading to speculation about potential connections.

The hacker still has significant holdings in various cryptocurrencies. Here's a breakdown of the remaining funds at the hacker's address:

  • Ethereum (ETH): $302.42 million
  • Tether (USDT): $3.97 million
  • Dai (DAI): $1.69 million
  • Binance Coin (BNB): $42.88 thousand
  • Bitcoin (BTC): $42.28 thousand
  • USD Coin (USDC): 30.24 thousand dollars
  • Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC): $8.84 thousand

FTX said that $415 million worth of cryptocurrencies were hacked from the exchange's accounts and that this represented a significant portion of the assets the company was trying to recover.

FTX filed for bankruptcy after a sudden wave of withdrawals crashed the stock market and its affiliated hedge fund Alameda. Founder and former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried was indicted by federal prosecutors in December on fraud and money laundering charges.
