Stolen crypto funds from the $35 million Atomic Wallet hack are reportedly being laundered through the sanctioned Russian-based exchange Garantex, according to blockchain security firm Elliptic. The North Korean hacking group Lazarus, believed to be behind the attack, is said to be using Garantex to trade the illicit funds for Bitcoin. The U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control had previously sanctioned Garantex and the Russian Hydra dark web marketplace. The funds are also being obfuscated through the Sinbad.io mixer, a service previously sanctioned for its involvement in money laundering and supporting cyber activities. The Atomic Wallet hack resulted in losses of up to $35 million.
