Funds from the $35 mln Atomic Wallet hack have been transferred to a crypto mixer that is used by the most notorious cyber hacker group in North Korea. On June 5, analytics firm Elliptic reported that its investigative team had traced funds from the $35 mln Atomic Wallet hack to the Sinbad.io crypto mixer.

Experts claim that the service was previously used to launder more than $100 mln worth of crypto assets stolen by the North Korean Lazarus Group. Elliptic did not specify how much was sent to the mixer, but noted that the loot was pre-converted into bitcoin.

On June 3, several Atomic Wallet user accounts were compromised, resulting in a $35 mln loss. However, the firm downplayed the incident, saying the attack affected less than 1% of monthly active users. According to Atomic Wallet CMO Roland Säde, the team is doing everything possible to get these funds back.
