Web3 Foundation, Parity Technologies, Wanxiang Blockchain Labs, and New Chainbase have teamed up to launch a six-month Web 3.0 Bootcamp in Shanghai. The Bootcamp will help twelve teams develop Web3.0 applications with Substrate and Polkadot Network. Hence, in May, the 2022 group will start in Shanghai, China. The official Web 3.0 Bootcamp 2022 opening ceremony will be on May 24 at 18:00 (UTC+8). Furthermore, it will be live-streamed on the Wanxiang Blockchain Bilibili Liveroom. Polkadot founder and Web3 Foundation chairman Gavin Wood will join the boot camp.  Du Yu, Wanxiang Blockchain's Vice-general Manager and Manager of Wanxiang Blockchain Labs, Helena, Parity Asia Pacific's Head, Anthony Day, Parity's Vice President of Ecosystem Management, and Hao Yukun, Chief Director of Wanxiang Blockchain, will discuss the boot camp's incubation services and technical support for all attendees. Gavin Wood will also discuss the most recent changes to the Polkadot ecosystem during this discussion. How Web 3.0 Bootcamp Helps the Metaverse - A Positive Launch?

Could It Be A Positive Launch?

Yes, it will be. In previous Web3.0 Bootcamps, they have assisted selected teams with technical training, professional mentors, a demo day, and marketing. These things helped them grow faster and drew the attention of some of the most prominent blockchain investors. Web3.0 Bootcamps also included offline and online workshops and events where selected teams could share ideas and discuss potential ways to collaborate. Teams such as Acala, Moonbeam, and Astar took advantage of these opportunities to gain a competitive advantage in the Polkadot ecosystem's cross-chain interaction field.

2022 Web3 Bootcamp Selected Teams

This year, the Web3 Bootcamp received 45 excellent applications from all over the world. So, let's look at the eleven incredible teams that made it through the difficult selection process.

beoble

beoble is a Web 3.0 social media module that uses an API and an SDK. It is a user-owned web 3.0 product that serves as a communication window on the blockchain. With beoble, social features such as social profiles, posting, and feeds can be integrated using Web 3.0.

Cumulus Encrypted Storage System (CESS)

Cumulus Encrypted Storage System (CESS) aims to be the first decentralized storage system capable of supporting large-scale commercial applications. In addition, CESS is a decentralized cloud data network based on blockchain. The developers created it with the help of the open-source Substrate framework.  CESS is an open-source blockchain system that allows people to store data services. It is also a platform for creators and users to share data on the blockchain and build and deploy DApps. CESS aspires to build a transparent global data ecosystem that is efficient, open, and secure. This will contribute to realizing the Web 3.0 vision of an open and fair data network.

Gear

Gear is a sophisticated WASM smart contract platform. It aims to be a Polkadot and a Kusama parachain that will allow developers to launch dApps the most quickly and efficiently possible. Gear's platform also enables developers to create decentralized applications (dApps) for Polkadot and Kusama in a short fraction of time and cost.

Hamster

Hamster is a blockchain-based application hosting and running platform. It is a platform for hosting DApps.

Meta Defender

Meta Defender is a fully decentralized financial insurance platform designed to compensate policyholders if they permanently lose blockchain-stored assets. In addition, the project improved the AMM risk pricing model and made it easier to combine insurance capital aggregates and liquidity.  Each person in a blockchain can get insurance or sign a contract that everyone agrees on, and they can choose how long the insurance will last and when they will be able to get their money back.  Currently, the V3 version is under research and built. This platform will help shorten the time it takes to deposit or withdraw funds from the insurance fund and provide a cross-chain solution.

Polka Dot Name System (PNS)

Polkadot Name System (PNS) is a decentralized name system for Polkadot that provides domain name services to Polkadot's parachains, part of its multi-chain architecture.  PNS provides unique domain names that end with .dot. These domain names can resolve a variety of off-chain and on-chain records, including smart contract addresses, wallet addresses, URLs, IPFS NFT assets, social media accounts, SSL certificates, and email addresses. As a result, web3 users will have full ownership of their digital identity with this service.

Relation

The goal of Relation is to become a multi-chain explorer of the benefits of Web3 Social graphs data. Their goal is to make the social graph of the global multi-chain ecosystem as robust and rich as possible. Relation recently released Relation One, a social DApp that allows people to build and grow social networks using Web3.  Relation Link Tool Suite was created to make using the Web3 social graph easier. Therefore, it is a piece of software that allows developers to navigate and search Web3 social graph data easily.  Relation also allows DApps to use the modular social functionality pieces in any way they see fit for their business. Their main goal at Relation is to change the next version of Web3's Social Graph infrastructure with their cutting-edge technical solutions based on Polkadot.

SaaS3

Web3's SaaS3 service is a secure Oracle service that uses the secure Oracle network to implement the next generation of blockchain "Oracle." SaaS3 is a scalable, subversive, and dependable offline computing protocol. It provides reliable data quotes and safe offline computing via the Web3 DAPI infrastructure.

Uiversaldot.me

Universaldot.me is a decentralized freelancing application (DApp) that allows users to form geographically separate organizations to create and complete tasks and manage their work. Its goal is to make contract creation easier for individuals and businesses.

Web3Games

Web3Games is a blockchain-based gaming platform. It is divided into four sections: Portal, Protocol, Studios, and Chain. Their goal is to assist traditional game developers in incorporating blockchain technology into their games, decentralizing gaming assets, and restoring digital ownership of in-game items to players.

Web3Go

Web3Go is an open-source data service that allows people to share, format, visualize, and collaborate on the on-chain data generated on the Polkadot ecosystem. Because DeFi, NFT, and Metaverse are growing in popularity, the blockchain generates a massive amount of data every day. So it is, without a doubt, extremely valuable.  The data enables media companies, investment firms, and blockchain users to make informed decisions and understand the on-chain environment. However, because the information is hazy and doesn't always make sense, it's difficult for non-experts to access and comprehend the blockchain's data.  Their goal is to create a data platform that will support the Polkadot ecosystem and provide all users with access to various tools that will allow them to see the visualized results of data analysis.

Web3 and the Metaverse — The Future

It is best to keep the metaverse "open and decentralized" so that no one can control the data and assets of users. Nonetheless, most early-stage Metaverses are currently controlled by various service providers. Facebook is helping make it happen by changing its name to "Meta" and hiring 10,000 people to help build the Metaverse.  Some speculate that the company is attempting to distance itself from the ongoing privacy and data security scandals. Different companies, including Facebook, also serve as central identity providers. This means that the identities and contents created by Facebook users are stored on central servers that the users can't control.  We've seen over the years that these companies don't always look out for our users' best interests and data. Therefore, it is important to prioritize decentralization and user ownership. As a result, Web 3.0 provides us with a set of rules and guidelines. Web 3.0 and the Metaverse are both built on technologies that complement one another. The Metaverse is a digital space. However, it could also be referred to as a digital world.  As Web 3.0 becomes less centralized, we must decide which types of websites to highlight in the metaverse. In addition, because the Metaverse is about fusing real and virtual realms and worlds, it is important to have an interoperable, open-source public chain to ensure that the various virtual worlds can connect and transfer assets from one location to another and interact with each other smoothly. The Metaverse of Web 3.0 will show us the new open and decentralized world of virtual reality. I can't wait to see what will happen to Web 3.0 and the Metaverse in the coming years!
