World largest cosmetic company enters metaverse.


The French brand, filed 17 trademarks with the World Intellectual Property Organization. Including L’Oréal subsidiaries Kiehl’s, Urban Decay, Pureology, Cerave and Maybelline. Trademark includes, hair care preparation and body care cosmetics in a virtual environment. Trademark also included non-downloadable virtual perfumes. Yes, you read it right, virtual perfumes.

Giants from every niche is jumping into Metaverse and no one wants to miss out. L’Oréal wants to make a strong presence in virtual world. L’Oréal will provide a metaverse that will allow users to browse, accumulate, purchase and trade virtual cosmetics. Hence NFTs will be a backbone of this Metaverse.

This is not L’Oréal first attempt on NFTs. In December 2021, L’Oréal launched its NFT by female artists. Five female artists were, Amber Vittoria, Arina BB, Hueman, Lili Tae and Puks. Their art was inspired by
by the shades of red. Within the new L’Oréal Paris Reds of Worth by Colour Riche, range of lipsticks. All 5 artists retain 100% of the primary sales. Their art is available to purchase on OpenSea.
