Binance has announced the launch of ‘Build The Block,’ a crypto-themed entrepreneurial reality show in the metaverse. In it, web3 businesses will showcase their solutions, and the best projects will receive funding from Binance Labs.

Binance, the world’s leading crypto exchange and blockchain ecosystem, has launched a web3-focused reality show to enable these projects to get funding for their applications in a fun way.

Dubbed “Build the Block,” Binance’s latest reality show will see 12 promising web3 projects compete against each other in an immersive virtual arena to get funding, exposure, and other opportunities they need to scale their solutions from Binance Labs.

The team says the 12 projects participating in the inaugural Build the Block competition were handpicked from over 900 applications. The 12 participating teams, selected from various sectors of the web3 economy, including gaming, payments, DeFi, and others, will battle against each other to impress a live avatar audience and a panel of judges.

The panel of judges includes Yi He, Co-founder and CMO of Binance and Head of Binance Labs, Yi Bo Ling, Binance Lab’s Chief Business officer, Azeem Khan, Fundraising and Partnership lead at Gitcoin and more.

“We believe in the potential of the metaverse and blockchain technology, and will continue to empower creators to build the future of the internet together.”

Binance’s Build the Block competition will be divided into seven 20-minute episodes, streamed exclusively on Binance Live and the firm’s official YouTube channel from May 12. The final episode will be aired on June 2, 2023.
