The largest hemp and cannabis testing facility in the eastern US, ACS Laboratory, is entering the metaverse as the first cannabis testing facility in the digital world.

The metaverse is undoubtedly one of the hottest attractions right now. Despite a gloomy cryptocurrency market, multi-billion dollar companies are still beamish on Web3. The metaverse is diversifying its offerings ranging from video games to real estate along with various practical applications. According to an official press release, ACS Laboratory, will be launching on Decentraland’s Automatic Slims Metaverse Marketplace consisting of four floors “of dynamic experiences merging retail, education, and entertainment.” The cannabis testing facility will be available on the first floor where visitors can explore the 3D lab or take ACS Laboratory’s Cannabis Quest to learn about the industry.

The virtual world powered by blockchain company, Blockticity, will enable users to redeem real-world prizes after participating in the quest. In the lab, visitors will be able to learn about hemp and cannabis compounds that are used to create the unique cannabis strains. On the second floor, visitors can explore the cultivation, extraction, and edible processing stations. Here, they can even shop for non-fungible tokens (NFT) collections, showcasing different cannabis brands.

Meanwhile, the metaverse will also include other experiences such as product treasure hunts, influencer podcasts, live-streaming music events, and digital brand activisions. ACS Laboratory President and CEO, Roger Brown, explained that the digital world will enable visitors to learn about the industry, connect with brands, and ultimately buy safe products. He added,

“The metaverse is a new and exciting medium for cannabis users to learn more about products, how they affect their body and how finished goods are made. We are proud to be part of the cannabis metaverse community and look forward to harnessing this medium for cannabis compliance.”

The Emerging Metaverse Space

Touted as “the next big thing”, the metaverse is revolutionizing the tech space at an exponential rate. Banking giant, JP Morgan Chase recently advertised a job offering for assisting with the web3, crypto, fintech, and metaverse. On the other hand, DBS, a Singapore-based financial services company, partnered with Animoca Brands backed gaming virtual world, The Sandbox, to build a virtual world titled, “DBS BetterWorld”.
