Walmart (WMT) is introducing two new experiences on the gaming platform Roblox that will allow customers to explore the metaverse. The action follows Walmart's filing of seven trademark applications at the end of December, which revealed its intentions to produce and market virtual items in the metaverse.
Gaming Experiences
In a statement released Monday, WalmWalmart Metaverseart said it had developed two experiences, one dubbed Walmart Land and the other Walmart's Universe of Play. Walmart to Feature Diverse Experiences
Walmart Land noted it would have a range of immersive activities, including a physics-defying Ferris wheel that would give visitors a comprehensive view of the world and unlockable tokens and badges earned through participation in various activities and competitions. Walmart land would offer three significant new experiences, all of which would target the next generation of customers:
- Electric Island
- House of Style
- Electric Fest
Universe of Play
Walmart's Universe of Play caters to very young players. A few of its features include the popular kids' TV series "PAW Patrol" and toys such as Magic Mixies, "Jurassic World" dino eggs, and Razor scooters. The brand-new Walmart experiences are live on Roblox.com. It is compatible with a variety of devices, such as Android, Mac, PC, Xbox, iOS, Amazon devices, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Roblox users can discover various toy worlds to generate cash for spectacular virtual items, or they can take on tasks to create custom trophy cases, uncover hidden codes, and other things.
