Asia’s Largest Metaverse Platform Zepeto Ramps Up Global Expansion

Zepeto, the biggest metaverse platform in Asia, reportedly is speeding up its international development to compete with "Big Tech" companies investing billions in building avatar-filled virtual worlds. Zepeto has drawn 340 million users since its debut in 2018. It has been dominated by young female users, in contrast to competing platforms created by game firms. JYP Entertainment, YG Entertainment, Hybe, and SoftBank's Vision Fund II have all invested in the K-pop and fashion-focused avatar platform, worth more than $1 billion. Zepeto was developing Turkish and Arabic language versions of the platform as part of an effort to expand into the Middle East. Zepeto was well-liked in Brazil. Billions of dollars are being staked on the three-dimensional metaverse becoming the next central computing platform by organizations like Microsoft and Facebook parent company Meta. Zepeto has grown swiftly to be Asia's largest such portal. Zepeto has made money from its audience by allowing users to personalize their avatars, construct their virtual worlds, and design and trade millions of goods, mostly clothes, accessories, and hairstyles.

Bulgari Opens Virtual World on Zepeto Metaverse Platform

On Zepeto, the largest metaverse platform in Asia, premium jewelry and accessory brand Bulgari has launched an exclusive virtual realm. There is a pop-up shop called Bulgari Sunset In Jeju. It offers visitors both online and offline experiences. Additionally, Disney and Universal have signed IP relationships with Naver Z. YG, who represents the girl group Blackpink, who held a virtual signing on the site during the pandemic. Since its debut in August 2018, Zepeto has gathered more than 320 million users globally.
