Journalist Eleanor Terrett shared noteworthy behind-the-scenes information regarding the Clarity Act discussions in the US Senate, which includes regulations for the cryptocurrency market.
According to Terrett, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer attended a meeting with Democratic senators yesterday. A source at the meeting said that while Schumer appeared willing and engaged to ensure a “yes” vote on the Clarity Act, he said more progress was needed in ethics discussions before Thursday’s scheduled committee review.
On the other hand, it was stated that ethical issues were discussed at today’s bipartisan meeting, but no concrete results have yet emerged from the talks. It was indicated that negotiations are expected to continue later in the day.
Republican and Democratic advisory teams will reconvene to review the draft after all proposed amendments have been submitted. The deadline for submitting amendments is 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
