Pro-crypto Wyoming Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis has been named the first-ever chair of a new Senate panel devoted to digital assets.
The panel will focus on passing bipartisan legislation that boosts the industry while protecting investors, with a specific focus on market structure, stablecoins and a strategic bitcoin reserve.

The panel will also monitor Federal regulators to ensure they are following the law and that innocent participants are not illegally de-banked – a practice allegedly carried out by officials at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) during the Biden administration.
