The SEC recently requested an additional 120 days to respond to Coinbase's petition, prompting the exchange to claim that the SEC is reluctant to update the court on its decision. Coinbase's chief legal officer called the government's defiance of a direct question from a federal court unusual, and the exchange is now seeking a court order to compel the SEC to fulfill its duties.
