Pakistan's Ministry of IT & Telecom has drafted a policy to promote artificial intelligence (AI) growth, despite recently announcing a ban on cryptocurrencies. The national AI policy aims to develop a knowledge-based economy and includes 15 targets to be achieved by 2028. Pakistan plans to establish a National AI Fund using underutilized resources and funds. The policy envisions AI applications in weather prediction, agriculture supply chain optimization, and healthcare services. The government welcomes public feedback until June 16, 2023. Compliance with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) may increase Pakistan's chances of receiving an International Monetary Fund bailout.
