Ubisoft Launches Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, Its First Web3 Game

Champions Tactics is a tactical RPG where players command a team of mystical Champions to battle in PvP arenas within the dark fantasy realm of Grimoria. Each player’s squad of three Champions is key to claiming victory, with each Champion possessing unique traits and powers that can be further enhanced and customized in the game’s Forge system. The upcoming release promises to bring a new level of immersion to Web3 gaming, designed to blend engaging gameplay with decentralized ownership.

A Seamless Web3 Experience

The game’s collection of 75,000 Champions—unique digital collectibles—will play a central role in the strategy-driven gameplay. These Champions possess distinct skills, and through the game’s Forge system, players can fuse abilities from their existing Champions to create new ones, unlocking infinite possibilities for customization. This feature adds depth and strategy to team creation, setting the stage for intense battles and dynamic leaderboard competition.

Since Ubisoft's initial announcement of Champions Tactics at IVS Kyoto last year, excitement has grown rapidly. The minting of Ubisoft’s first 10K PFP collection, The Warlords, and the subsequent 75K Champions mint in July 2024 shattered records, establishing a passionate community of more than 100K followers on X and 50K users on Discord. Closed alpha and beta tests with thousands of players have already garnered positive feedback, setting high expectations for the upcoming launch.
