Web3 game MonkeyLeague rebrands to UNKJD Soccer

UNKJD Studios, the Solana-based gaming studio formerly known as Uncaged Studio, will rebrand its main Web3 mobile game – MonkeyLeague – to UNKJD Soccer, per the latest information shared with Finbold.

The change comes as the company hopes to expand beyond the mobile soccer game by making extensive collaborations with fashion, entertainment, and sports brands while maintaining its three-pillar foundation of IP, game, and Web3.

UNKJD Studios also announced its intent to expand its IP rapidly and offer steady releases of new sports games every 6 to 8 months.

Maxim Bashkaev Vaysbord, a former Azuki executive and the new Brand Director for UNKJD expressed his faith in the future of Web3 gaming, stating:

We firmly believe that gaming is at the forefront of the entertainment industry. At UNKJD, we aim to architect a universe where games are the centerpiece, and Web3 acts as the connective matrix, empowering the community with ownership and our games with interoperability.

UNKJD pledges the rebrand isn’t a mere name change

Tal Friedman, UNKJD CEO, explained that the rebrand from MonkeyLeague to UNKJD is not a mere name change but his company’s commitment to bringing fun and unique experiences to Web2 and Web3 gamers alike. He added that the move is the first step on the journey “to redefine the next era of Web3 gaming”.

Raz Friedman, co-founder of the company, likewise expressed his faith in the game and his excitement about a future in which “sports, strategy, and RPG seamlessly converge.” He also explained that the game represents a platform through which gamers can choose to “go pro” and also commented on the overall prospects of the gaming industry:

The video gaming industry is on the brink of an extraordinary era with expected $282 billion revenue and solid annual growth of 8.76% from 2024 to 2027.

Finally, the studio explained that its 2024 roadmap opens with a series of upgrades for its mobile game – particularly focused on the key market of Brazil – and that the team will soon start revealing a series of additional utilities for the game cryptocurrency – the MBS token – and added that UNKJD will have its main global launch in the second half of 2024.
