Animoca Brands is gearing up to launch the Formula E: High Voltage Web3 electric car racing game on October 19. This groundbreaking title introduces a unique fusion of racing management and blockchain technology, harnessing the eco-friendly power of the Flow blockchain to grant players digital ownership of their in-game items as NFTs.

Every Formula E: High Voltage player will receive four exclusive NFTs, comprising two cars and two drivers, which not only enhances their gaming experience but also provides them with a stake in the digital racing world. With these NFTs, players can immerse themselves in the thrilling world of electric car racing, taking control of their very own racing team and electric racing cars.

This innovative game features iconic elements from the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, including renowned city center tracks like Rome, Berlin, New York, and London. Players will have to strategically manage each race, carefully selecting the best cars, drivers, and special abilities to ensure optimal performance in varying weather conditions and day or night races.

What sets Formula E: High Voltage apart is the use of NFTs to represent each car and driver, each possessing a distinct rarity – common, rare, epic, or legendary – and a special skill drawn from a pool of over 100 abilities. Collecting, training, upgrading, and managing drivers and cars are pivotal to building a racing empire within the game.
The game offers a range of fantasy and official cars and drivers, including the reigning 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Champion, Jake Dennis, and his Andretti Porsche 99X Electric GEN3.
Notably, the current GEN3 race car, known for being the fastest, lightest, most powerful, and efficient electric race car, will be available in-game.

Formula E: High Voltage is part of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem, joining other licensed blockchain racing games like MotoGP Ignition and MotoGP Guru, as well as original titles REVV Racing and Torque Drift 2. This dynamic ecosystem operates on the Flow blockchain, renowned for its energy-efficient Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism, which ensures that creating an NFT on Flow consumes less energy than posting a single picture on Instagram or conducting a Google search.

Furthermore, in alignment with Formula E's commitment to counteract climate change, Formula E: High Voltage operates within a net-zero carbon strategy and commitment, making it a responsible and sustainable choice for environmentally conscious gamers.

Will Griffiths, vice president of commercial strategy at Animoca Brands, said in a statement, “The upcoming launch of Formula E: High Voltage in partnership with Formula E marks an exhilarating moment for us. Fans and players alike will not only immerse themselves in the excitement of the race, but also enjoy the advantages of true digital ownership brought by NFT and blockchain technologies.”
“We take pride in placing innovation first, which is why this project was a great fit for all parties – it allowed us to pour our game development experience, curiosity, and passion for technology into the world of Formula E and combine it with the deep engagement of decentralized collectible games spearheaded by Animoca Brands.”

Marty Caplan, Head of Innovation at Amber
As the highly anticipated Formula E: High Voltage gears up for its release on October 19, racing fans and blockchain enthusiasts alike can prepare for an exhilarating journey into the world of electric car racing, powered by NFTs and blockchain technology. Starting from October 17, players can secure their NFT crates from the official Formula E: High Voltage website, each containing exclusive cars and drivers, offering a chance to own a piece of the electric racing action.
