The Philippine arm of Axie Infinity (AXS), the blockchain-based trading and battling game ecosystem, has launched the first-ever Axie accessories towards fortifying the emotional connection between players and their axies.

This development came via its official Twitter early today, noting that the accessories or skins are for the community to use in the Arena or the upcoming AxieCore feature.

Nandito na ang Axie Accessories or skins na pwede mong makuha at magamit sa Arena, pati narin sa parating na #AxieCore feature.

An official press release read:

This launch also introduces a sleek new Axie management page, which will be used for equipping accessories, upgrading body parts, and more as we flesh out and expand upon Axie Core.

Players can join by releasing an Axie between now and January 3, 2023, to receive a limited-edition holiday accessory. After January 3, the accessories would become collectibles, NFTs, in each gamer’s Ronin wallet. Notably, a participant can release up to 20 Axies at a time.

Notably, Axie Infinity was one of the pioneers of the Play-to-Earn (P2E) concept, where gamers earn crypto and NFTs through gaming activity. Users participate in turn-based fights as part of the online game, but the main distinction is that players have control over their characters, land plots, resources, and other in-game world goods.

Axie’s utility token AXS is one of the top 50 coins with a market cap of over half a billion dollars. AXS trades at $6.88, with barely a 1% fall in the last 24 hours, after crypto traders sold and bought over $76 million worth of AXS.
