Who pays for the wait
A lender liquidating collateral needs funds to close a borrowing position. A tokenized investment can carry a redemption timetable that extends beyond the moment the lender needs payment. Settle connects that position with approved buyers, also called solvers, that can supply liquid funds and acquire the tokens.
In the model described in RedStone’s April product explanation, a solver buys at a discount and seeks to earn the spread to face value at maturity. Actual redemption proceeds depend on the asset’s terms. The buyer’s financing costs and expected payout shape the price it can offer for taking over the redemption wait. Settle’s funding model
RedStone lists several possible funding strategies, including liquid restaking capital, on-demand stablecoin minting, institutional over-the-counter desks and dedicated settlement vaults. The Hadron announcement leaves the committed capacity of its prospective liquidity providers unspecified.
For lenders, a successful auction turns collateral into repayment funds immediately. For the winning buyer, it creates an investment that still has to complete the issuer’s redemption process. The discount is therefore part of the cost of delivering speed to the exiting side of the trade.
Independent documentation from Centrifuge illustrates the distinction. Its investor guide says redemption requests are processed at the manager’s cadence, with the final amount determined by the processing price. Freely transferable tokens can instead be sold at market prices where secondary liquidity is available. Centrifuge investor guide
RedStone describes a proposed voluntary-exit route in which holders set their maximum acceptable haircut and providers quote to buy the position. Large positions can be divided among several providers. RedStone’s Hadron announcement
The same announcement describes near-instant unwinding of leveraged, looped positions as a design capability. In such a position, an investor borrows against tokens, buys more tokens and posts those as collateral again. The release provides no Hadron-specific activation schedule for that unwind feature.
The limits of available liquidity
Participation also has boundaries. Providers complete RedStone’s business verification and must satisfy the issuer’s holder requirements, including identity checks or whitelisting. The announcement’s access disclosure excludes persons located, resident or incorporated in the United States.
Settle’s architecture selects the highest valid offer and executes the price update, solver callback, loan repayment and collateral release in one transaction. A failure in that sequence causes the transaction to revert in full. Settle architecture
Buyer availability determines whether that exchange can happen on acceptable terms. In its September explanation of Settle for the HYB tokenized bond fund, RedStone says an auction receiving no offers reverts and liquidation proceeds through the regular route. HYB settlement example
For Hadron issuers, the reviewed announcements and architecture disclose no committed liquidity amount, guaranteed auction coverage or executed settlement volume.
If eligible buyers lack available capital or demand a larger discount than an exiting holder accepts, fast settlement can become harder to obtain. The practical test for Ardoino’s round-the-clock ambition is whether the rollout attracts approved providers willing to offer prices that lenders and eligible holders can use.
