Arkham, a blockchain intelligence and analytics platform designed to deanonymize blockchain transactions by linking wallet addresses to real-world entities using Artificial Intelligence (AI), has noticed the minting activity of $USDC by Circle above than $8B. This mintage counters connecting total circulation of more than $78B. The purpose of this announcement is to investigate the exact origin of the creation of $USDC.

Since the start of February, Circle has minted over $8B of $USDC, bringing total circulation above $78B.
Our research team analyzed the on-chain data behind the recent $USDC minting and where this supply is being issued across chains. Check it out below: pic.twitter.com/Domh0jviEx
The $USDC Mint Authority refers to the Circle address used to mint $USDC on the Solana blockchain. The amount of minted $USDC is equal to $8.4 billion, existing on Solana. The whole minting of $USDC is divided across different blockchains. Similarly, 66% of circulating $USDC is on the Ethereum network, corresponding to a large portion of $USDC being present on Ethereum L2s like Base (5.5%) and Arbitrum (2.7%). Arkham has released this news through its official social media X account.
