The renowned investor, recalling that he had predicted one of the biggest stock market crashes in history in the past and that his prediction had come true, said that he hoped to be wrong this time, but that current economic indicators pointed to serious risks.
According to Kiyosaki, the fundamental problems in the global financial system, particularly the structural problems that emerged during the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, have not been fully resolved despite the years that have passed. Therefore, he argued that the likelihood of a new market collapse is increasing.
The renowned author also recalled predicting the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008 a few days in advance and mentioning this on a CNN program. According to him, one of the triggers for a potential crisis this year could be the private credit market.
Kiyosaki, specifically highlighting BlackRock’s growing private lending market, said that problems in this area could have significant effects on the global financial system. He also emphasized that the retirement funds of “baby boomer” generations worldwide could be at serious risk due to their high debt burden.
Finally, Kiyosaki stated that he has been giving investors the same advice for years, reiterating that alternative investments such as gold, silver, and crypto assets can play a significant role in portfolios during periods of economic uncertainty.
