2025 saw both rises and sharp declines. However, the last three months, contrary to expectations of an increase, were marked by sharp drops.

While Bitcoin and altcoins have driven investors away from the market in recent months due to their weak performance, 2026 began with renewed risk appetite and an upward trend.

While expectations for 2026 vary, Coinshares has released its cryptocurrency report, stating that there were $582 million in inflows last week.

According to the data, total inflows reached $47.2 billion in 2025, while interest in some altcoins also increased.

“Global cryptocurrency inflows are projected to reach $47.2 billion in 2025, coming very close to the 2024 record.”

Despite some midweek fluctuations, 2026 got off to a strong start.

Cryptocurrency products ended 2025 with a total global inflow of $47.2 billion. This figure was slightly below the record of $48.7 billion set in 2024.

Bitcoin Maintains its Lead!

Looking at crypto funds individually, it was observed that the majority of inflows were in Bitcoin.

On a weekly basis, Bitcoin saw inflows worth $512.3 million, while Ethereum (ETH) experienced inflows of $119.1 million.

Looking at other altcoins, Solana (SOL) experienced an outflow of $30.2 million, while XRP saw an inflow of $10.7 million and Chainlink (LINK) saw an inflow of $1.3 million.

On an annual basis, Bitcoin attracted $26.9 billion in inflows, while Ethereum experienced inflows of $12.7 billion.

Interest in altcoins also remained high, with XRP attracting $3.7 billion and Solana $3.6 billion in inflows.

“Bitcoin lost 35% of its value last year, and only $26.9 billion in inflows were recorded in 2025.”

The combination of price drops resulted in a $105 million inflow of short-term Bitcoin investment products throughout 2025.

Ethereum made the most significant gains, with inflows of $12.7 billion, a 138% increase year-on-year.

XRP and Solana saw increases of 500% ($3.7 billion) and 1000% ($3.6 billion) respectively in 2025. The remaining altcoins experienced an emotional downturn with a 30% ($318 million) year-on-year decrease in inflows.

Looking at regional fund inflows and outflows, the US ranked first with annual inflows of $42.5 billion.

After the US, Germany saw inflows of $2.4 billion, while Canada received $1.14 billion.

In response to these inflows, Sweden experienced outflows of $775 million, while Brazil saw outflows of $1 million.
