Airbnb CEO Says Users Suggest Adding Crypto Payments

Co-founder and CEO of e-marketplace Airbnb, Brian Chesky announced that the top suggestion by the platform's users is to have the option of crypto payments.

On Jan. 3, the CEO asked on Twitter, if Airbnb would launch anything this year, what it would be. Chesky mentioned that there were various suggestions and ideas for crypto payments. Overall, he received around 4000 suggestions. Chesky noted that the team is already working on most, and will explore others.

Airbnb was founded in 2007 in San Francisco. In a Twitter thread, Brian Chesky said that the platform's existing payments volume from 2013 stands at $336 bln.

2 - Clear pricing displays
3 - Guest loyalty program
4 - Updated cleaning fees
5 - More long-term stays & discounts
6 - Better customer service

Previously, during an interview with Fox Business, Airbnb CEO noted that the company’s customers sent a lot of requests connected with the crypto pay option.

Then, he mentioned that the company is adaptive and is set to move forward and embrace innovations sooner than any others. It isn’t certain for now if crypto will be among Airbnb’s upgrades in 2022.

Among the companies that accept crypto payments are PayPal, Starbucks, AMC Theatres, Dallas Mavericks, and others.
