China Pacific Insurance Company (CPIC) has collaborated with Waterdrip Capital to establish two crypto investment funds in Hong Kong that will focus on blockchain technologies and crypto assets. Despite China's negative regulatory attitude towards the market, Hong Kong aims to become a digital asset hub, with the backing of Beijing.
The Pacific Waterdrip Digital Asset Fund I will invest in blockchain infrastructure, decentralized finance applications, and NFT apps. The Pacific Waterdrip Digital Asset Fund II will mainly hold digital assets based on the proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. The funds target institutional and high-net-worth individual investors.
