AMC Theatres — America’s largest movie operator, announces that it will add Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) as payments.
After announcing that it will accept Bitcoin for online ticket and concession payments by year-end 2021, AMC Theatres stated today that it will accept ETH, LTC, and BCH.
Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Theatres also confirms the news on his Twitter account today. Aron said,
Cryptocurrency enthusiasts: you likely know AMC Theatres has announced we will accept Bitcoin for online ticket and concession payments by year-end 2021. I can confirm today that when we do so, we also expect that we similarly will accept Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.
In short, AMC Entertainment will not only accept Bitcoin (BTC) payments by the end of 2021, as reported on August 10. But it will also add other popular digital currencies mentioned above.
According to Aron, moviegoers were excited to use crypto as a payment method. Specifically, he noted that they were eager to buy tickets and concessions at AMC locations across the U.S. with crypto.
Aron also adds that the firm is working to finalize the necessary modalities required for accepting crypto payments. What is more, Aron’s tweet received many comments from the crypto community.
A Twitter account tweeted, asking Aron about Dogecoin (DOGE). In fact, the account asked why they picked Litecoin over the legendary memecoin — Dogecoin. On this matter, Aron did not reply.
