Circle, the global financial technology firm behind one of the most popular dollar-based stablecoin USDC has partnered with blockchain domain name provider Unstoppable Domains to offer easy and human-readable usernames instead of lengthy wallet addresses for USDC transfers.
Circle Forms Partnership With Unstoppable Domains
Unstoppable Domains, the blockchain domain name provider and the creator of the dollar-based stablecoin Circle on August 4 introduced simplified user experience and USDC transfers by introducing readable usernames for stablecoin payments.
By integrating with Unstoppable Domains, USD Coin holders will soon be able to transfer the stablecoin with simpler usernames instead of lengthy alphanumeric wallet addresses across supported apps, wallets, and crypto exchanges utilizing the stablecoin.
Under this partnership, USDC transfers will be similar to like sending an email while likely solving the problem of transferring coins to the wrong address.
Commenting on the integration, Josh Hawkins, Circle’s senior vice president of marketing, said:
“USDC has grown dramatically in the last year, fueling commerce and payments activity across the internet. With Unstoppable Domains' .coin usernames, sending USDC becomes just as easy as sending an email. We believe this is a major step forward in making USDC payments accessible for all.”
Unstoppable Domains currently supports over 200 cryptocurrencies and over 50 wallets and exchanges. It has reportedly sold over 1 million blockchain domain names such as .crypto, .nft, and .coin, among others with more still in development.
Simplifying USDC Payments
Data from CoinMarketCap suggests USD Coin is a digital dollar-pegged stablecoin with a market capitalization of over $27.4 billion and has become one of the world’s most popular since its launch in 2018. With such widened reach, the partnership with Unstoppable Domains will leverage USDC to scale the adoption of cryptocurrencies while removing its complexities.
