Today is a Big day for Ethereum, the ETH 2.0 Medalla Testnet starts

After a long wait, the official testnet for Ethereum 2.0 starts today and the community has reason to rejoice.

Hudson Jameson, Ethereum core developer, also points out the launch.

The test network needed to deposit 524,288 ETHs for a successful start and current statistics confirm that this was met at 136%, so far 711,712 ETHs have been deposited.

As we wrote to you in previous articles, the duration is estimated at 3 months with an end date of November 4, so the genesis block of ethereum 2.0 can begin on November 5th.
