Machi Big Brother Swings From $HYPE to Ethereum
Machi Big Brother raised his leveraged Ethereum ($ETH) long to 2,925 $ETH, derivatives position-tracking data shows, an addition of 800 to the 2,125 $ETH the same wallet carried a day earlier. The day-earlier snapshot, taken on Saturday, had the account at 2,125 $ETH on the long side and 4,500 $HYPE. The latest tally was taken at 12:02 p.m. Korea time on Nov. 1, which is 03:02 UTC. The wallet's other large bet moved the opposite way: its Hyperliquid ($HYPE) long was cut from 4,500 to 4,200 over the same window, a reduction of 300. The Ethereum price posted a 1.28% 24-hour gain over Bitcoin early Sunday, a drift that worked in the long's favor at the reading. At that moment the two marks diverged. The $ETH long, held at 25x leverage, stood at unrealized profit of about $61,100. The $HYPE long stood at an unrealized loss of about $12,800. Neither figure was locked in: both are mark-to-market values on open positions, not money taken off the table, and a paper profit becomes a settled one only when the position is closed. The 25x multiple is what makes the Ethereum ($ETH) side's number move as hard as it does. At that gearing, a 1% swing in Ether's price shifts the position's equity by roughly 25%, so modest price travel can add or erase a six-figure sum on a book this size. Position-tracking platforms follow public wallet addresses and publish such snapshots on a rolling basis; this account is tracked because its positions are large enough to leave clear on-chain footprints. The tally itself carries a qualification: a change in one account's quantity does not, by itself, indicate the overall scale of buying or selling in the market.
