According to cryptocurrency analytics company Arkham Intelligence, the largest Ethereum ($ETH) holders have been revealed.
According to the Arkham report, the largest individual holder of Ethereum is not co-founder Vitalik Buterin, but pre-sale investor Rain Lohmus.
Rain Lohmus is the largest individual $ETH holder with 250,000 $ETH ($530 million). However, he does not have access to the private keys controlling his wallet or to the wallet itself.

Buterin is the second largest individual owner with approximately 224,000 $ETH ($480 million).
The report also revealed that the address with the largest total assets is the ETH2 Beacon Chain deposit contract, which manages staked assets for network security and contains approximately 82 million $ETH.
According to the Arkham report, among institutional investors, Coinbase leads with 4.2 million $ETH ($9 billion), followed by Binance with 3.6 million $ETH ($7 billion) and BlackRock with 3 million $ETH ($6 billion).
Arkham stated that Ethereum treasury company Bitmine (BMNR) is estimated to hold over 4.7 million $ETH, worth over $10 billion.
The report states that exchanges make up the vast majority of the top 20 addresses holding $ETH, with Upbit being the third largest exchange holder with 1.7 million $ETH (worth $3.4 billion), after Coinbase and Binance.
The US government reportedly holds a significant share, with 62,000 $ETH seized in various incidents.
