Today, LINE TECH PLUS PTE LTD (LTP) and LVC Corporation announced the launch of LINE Blockchain Developers. This stands as a new developer platform focused on blockchain-based services.

Launching A New Platform

Back in April of 2019, LINE had set up LINE Blockchain Lab and its team in order to research Peer-to-Peer (P2P) network-based distributed systems, encryption technologies, and to develop blockchain-driven DApps. With this goal in mind, the team had worked across a wide array of blockchain projects across the LINE Group as a whole.

This includes the development of the proprietary LINE Blockchain, which was formerly referred to as LINK Chain. Alongside this,  they built an ecosystem-based within the LINE Blockchain, as well, with the aim to generate a co-creative relationship between the service providers and users. This falls under the “LINE Token Economy” concept that LINE perpetuates.

Joining Forces

LINE is convinced of the complexities and costs surrounding the building and deployment of it, has prevented the widespread and practical uses of blockchain. Due to this, LVC and LTP had opted to share LINE’s blockchain technologies. This, in turn, had lead to the companies working alongside each other to launch LINE Blockchain Developers. This will serve as a development platform for the companies to build their respective blockchain services from.

Alongside this, blockchain technology is already capable of being added to existing services. This, in turn, would see the creation of one-of-a-kind token economies. As it stands now, LINE will offer the web-based environment that is the development console through the web portal of the developer: LINE Developers.

Prioritizing And Growing

With this platform ready for use, developers and companies alike can focus their attention on improving the UX, as well as other facets of its services. This comes instead of the technical hassles regarding security and blockchain.

Back in early August, LINE had made headlines thanks to its proprietary token, the LINE token, being listed within the BitMax exchange. The coin itself was issued back in 2018, and was given to users that took part within the messaging app’s reward program. At first, only BITFRONT allowed for trading in LN, which is the native crypto exchange for LINE as a whole.

Due to the token being called Link (LN), there’s a small, albeit amusing amount of confusion between LN and LINK, the token for Chainlink It should be noted, however, that LINK was launched almost a year before LN ever hit the market.
