Through Red Alarm, users can access security-related warnings that may help them recognize suspicious applications and contracts before committing funds or approving transactions.
This measure follows after the Binance crypto exchange hack in late October put the entire crypto market on its toes, prompting crypto platforms to tighten their security.
On November 6, 2026, $BNB Chain issued a notice, stating it was aware of the security risk affecting the Reth client. However, its opBNB does not use op-reth, with the impact on BSC-Reth being limited.
On the same day, $BNB Chain announced a BSC-Reth hotfix, urging all BSC-Reth node operators on mainnet and testnet to upgrade to v0.1.4-hotfix as soon as possible and restart their nodes.
$BNB Chain teases major developments
$BNB Chain teases major developments, including its new L1 in development and continued upgrades on $BNB Smart Chain (BSC).
Jenner is now on BSC testnet, bringing changes to payments, app timing, and token tools. BEP-703 introduces Payment Lane as part of the Jenner Hardfork on $BNB Smart Chain (BSC). It reserves a share of each block's gas capacity for eligible payments, protecting that capacity from general traffic. The default reservation is 5% of each block's gas limit.
Payment Lane sets aside capacity for qualifying $BNB transfers between wallets, so unrelated activity cannot use it all. Token payments can also qualify once approved for the lane.
