Western Union has selected stablecoin payments company Noah to provide the banking infrastructure behind Receiver Redirect, a service that lets a recipient collect a money transfer as USDPT, the dollar stablecoin Anchorage Digital Bank issues on Solana for the remittance company. The two companies announced the arrangement on Tuesday.

The deal moves a stablecoin into the payout leg of the largest retail remittance network. Western Union's earlier stablecoin work sat on the consumer side of the transfer: the Stablecard built with Rain, which the issuer said this month is live in 37 markets. Receiver Redirect settles the transfer itself.

The release said the service will support stablecoin transfers in more than 60 currencies across over 200 countries and territories, reaching Western Union's 150 million-plus customers and more than half a million agent locations. Senders hand over cash at an agent location and recipients collect USDPT into a Western Union wallet, where they can hold it indefinitely using the Stablecard announced in August.

"Customers increasingly want greater flexibility in how they receive, hold and use money," said Malcolm Clarke, Global Head Digital Assets at Western Union. "This new capability is a global first, taking a Western Union money transfer and delivering it directly into the customers' stablecard wallet in USDPT stablecoin, creating a seamless connection between our global money movement network and our digital asset ecosystem."

What Noah Actually Does

Noah's role is treasury and licensing. The company said it will pre-fund, convert and disburse USDPT to recipients, and handle local regulatory compliance on each leg. Western Union keeps the customer relationship and the agent network.

The release describes Noah's network as supporting more than 100 countries and 40 currencies. Noah's own site says its payout product converts stablecoins into more than 30 fiat currencies and names Felix Capital, FJ Labs and LocalGlobe among its backers. The site does not mention Western Union or Receiver Redirect.

"The international movement of money through traditional banks is slow, expensive and no longer fit for purpose," said Shah Ramezani, Founder and CEO of Noah. "Stablecoin opens up a new, faster and cheaper way to move funds globally."

The Fee Math In The Release

Western Union and Noah put the addressable flow at $905 billion a year in global remittances, citing the World Bank, and say bank fees average about 6% of transfer value by the same source. The companies said stablecoin settlement will cut transfer times from days to hours and fees to a fraction of that. Neither company published a fee schedule for Receiver Redirect or a launch date for the service.

The release also puts business-to-business stablecoin volume at an annualized $226 billion in 2026, up 733%, and at under 1% of global cross-border B2B flows. It does not name a source for those three figures.

Where USDPT Sits

USDPT is issued on Solana by Anchorage Digital Bank, a US national trust bank, and is not insured by the FDIC. Western Union deployed the token on Bybit's fiat channels in Latin America in June. Anchorage Digital Bank also issues USDtb with Ethena Labs and USA₮ with Tether.

Western Union trades on the NYSE under WU. No token is directly implicated by the announcement.
