The offering combines three products:
- The World ID app, an identity wallet that gives people a secure place to claim, manage, and present a set of verified “Proofs” needed to navigate digital services in the age of AI.
- World ID for Zoom, built for real-time communication, which lets participants on a video call confirm they are speaking with a real human rather than a deepfake.
- World ID for Agents, which allows a person to establish Proofs about themselves and delegate them to an AI agent. The agent can then confirm those Proofs to a third-party platform on the person’s behalf.
Alongside the launch, World announced the general availability of World ID for Zoom. Tools for Humanity, a contributor to World that builds its core technology, has also joined Zoom’s independent software vendor (ISV) exchange program, a step that could make the integration easier for enterprise Zoom customers to adopt.
“As AI becomes increasingly prevalent in all aspects of our lives, enterprises are requesting individuals provide ‘Proofs’ about themselves to help mitigate fraud and increase trust,” said Sandro Herbig, president at Tools for Humanity. “World ID for banking and finance offers a suite of tools to add an AI-safe trust layer across their internal and external systems.”
World is working with a group of design partners, including OpenExchange, Bain Capital, VanEck Funds, and Outtake, to explore how its technology can support banking and financial services use cases. The company said these collaborations show how World ID can be applied to the trust and verification challenges institutions now face.
The launch comes as fraud losses tied to AI continue to climb. Deloitte projects that AI-enabled fraud in the U.S. could reach $40 billion by 2027, up from an estimated $12.3 billion in 2023. The risk is especially acute in banking and asset management, where a single digital interaction can involve sensitive information or trigger a significant financial decision.
World says its approach combines quantum-secure cryptographic Proof verification with tools built for everyday digital communication, with the goal of giving organizations more confidence in the people and agents taking part in sensitive interactions.
More than 18 million people currently hold a World Proof of Human, which the company describes as the foundation of its real human network. Following Money20/20, World will continue introducing the technology to enterprise audiences at Zoomtopia and through an activation at Cloudflare Connect.
