Capitalizing on Onchain Real-World Assets
Solana blockchain infrastructure firm Flowra has signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Gold Exchange Digital Asset. (KorDA) to explore using gold-backed digital assets as collateral for securing Solana validator operations, the companies announced.
Under the 12-month agreement, the companies plan to evaluate a model where KGLD, a gold-backed digital asset managed by KorDA or an authorized affiliate, serves as collateral to secure solana ($SOL) tokens. The secured $SOL would then be delegated to network validators running on Flowra’s infrastructure.
The agreement comes amid rapid expansion in the broader market for real-world assets (RWAs) onchain. Tokenized gold has emerged as one of the fastest-growing categories in the digital asset sector, with total market capitalization surging to over $6 billion. Driven by rising institutional demand, high central bank gold purchases, and heightened geopolitical uncertainty, the market cap for tokenized commodities has grown significantly, outpacing traditional physical gold products.
