Polymesh, permissioned blockchain for compliant asset markets, has launched Confidential Assets on its DevNet, adding privacy-focused settlement tools for regulated real-world assets.

The update allows institutions to settle transactions onchain while keeping sensitive data private, including positions, transfer amounts, and counterparty details, with audit access preserved.

Confidential Assets are built on P-DART, a privacy protocol developed by Polymesh Labs with researchers from the University of Edinburgh. Polymesh Labs is the core development team of the network. The protocol encrypts transaction data such as identities, balances, and asset identifiers, while still supporting verifiable and final settlement. Issuers can designate auditors who are able to decrypt transaction activity for compliance, legal reviews, or operational checks.

The DevNet release provides a testing environment for developers, custodians, and tokenization platforms to explore confidential settlement flows. The feature is available now for experimentation ahead of future testnet and mainnet deployments.
