Armonk, NY — IBM (NYSE: IBM) has unveiled IBM Digital Asset Haven, a new platform that enables financial institutions, governments, and corporations to securely manage digital assets across multiple blockchains while maintaining full compliance, sovereignty, and security.

Developed in collaboration with Dfns, a leading wallet infrastructure provider, Digital Asset Haven combines IBM’s enterprise-grade infrastructure with Dfns’ custody and wallet technology — which has already created over 15 million wallets for more than 250 clients.

The result is an end-to-end solution that allows institutions to move from custody to transaction to settlement, all under a single, regulated framework.

A Bridge Between Traditional Finance & Digital Assets

As tokenization and stablecoin adoption accelerate, banks and governments are looking for ways to engage securely with digital assets. IBM Digital Asset Haven offers them a bridge — combining on-chain programmability with IBM’s long-standing reputation for mission-critical reliability.
“With IBM Digital Asset Haven, our clients can enter and expand into the digital asset space backed by IBM’s level of security and reliability. This unified platform delivers the resilience and data governance institutions have been asking for, empowering enterprises to build the next generation of financial services.”

Tom McPherson, General Manager for IBM Z & LinuxONE
IBM has long been recognized as a global leader in hybrid cloud, AI, and enterprise infrastructure, serving clients in more than 175 countries across financial services, telecommunications, and healthcare.

Thousands of government and corporate entities already rely on IBM’s hybrid cloud platform and Red Hat OpenShift to streamline operations securely. With Digital Asset Haven, the company extends its legacy of trust and compliance into the digital asset economy.

Key Capabilities

IBM Digital Asset Haven is designed as a comprehensive lifecycle platform for digital assets, offering built-in governance, automation, and compliance tools:

Transaction Lifecycle Management: Automates and routes transactions across 40+ public and private blockchains, handling everything from execution to monitoring and settlement.
Governance & Entitlement Management: Establishes a unified framework for wallet access, policy enforcement, and transaction approvals using multi-party authorization workflows.
Third-Party Integrations: Pre-integrated services for KYC, AML, yield generation, and more, with open REST APIs and SDKs for partner extensions.
Holistic Security & Key Management: Incorporates Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and Hardware Security Module (HSM) signing through IBM Crypto Express 8S, as well as IBM Offline Signing Orchestrator (OSO) for compliant cold storage operations.

IBM also includes quantum-safe cryptography guidance, helping clients future-proof against emerging threats while maintaining jurisdictional compliance.

Industry Collaboration and Vision

According to Clarisse Hagège, CEO of Dfns, the partnership with IBM represents a leap forward in institutional readiness:
“For digital assets to be integrated into core banking and capital markets systems, the underlying infrastructure must meet the same standards as traditional financial rails. Together with IBM, we’ve built a platform that goes beyond custody to orchestrate the full digital asset ecosystem, paving the way for global-scale adoption.”
By embedding compliance and multi-party governance into every transaction layer, Digital Asset Haven positions IBM at the center of a new financial architecture — one where digital assets are managed with the same rigor as traditional banking systems.

Availability

IBM Digital Asset Haven will be offered in several deployment models:
